Update: The size of the fire is 6000 acres, per WildCAD.

With sustained hot, dry and unstable weather conditions, significant fire growth occurred on the Emigrant Fire today. The fire is now estimated at 3,500 acres.

Firefighters are taking every opportunity for an aggressive, full suppression response with the challenging weather and terrain. Resources will remain engaged on the fire into the evening.

A Complex Incident Management Team has been inbriefed and will assume command of the fire on Tuesday.

The Emigrant Fire is located approximately three miles southwest of Indigo Springs Campground on the Middle Fork Ranger District. Visitors are asked to avoid the area for public safety.
