Emigrant Fire 9/18/25 Morning update

CURRENT STATUS: Containment continues to increase while fire growth has been minimal. Fire crews are using Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) with infrared to seek hot spots and mop up where they can. Mechanical fuels treatments are completed along the northern and western perimeter. Crews in those areas have transitioned into patrol and mop up operations. Mechanical treatments are continuing along the eastern and southern perimeter of the fire to reinforce primary control lines, such as Forest Road 21. The temporary flight restriction boundary has been updated to fit current operational needs.

WEATHER: Northwesterly winds will continue today and into the weekend, bringing moisture and cooler temperatures. Moving into the weekend, there is a slight chance of precipitation due to influence from tropical system Mario.
